The Ritz London

Second visit to The Ritz for afternoon tea. It didn’t disappoint. From the sandwiches to the pastries and scones everything was very lovely. Staff were attentive and welcoming. Would highly recommend. Celebrating 60th birthdays myself and friend were gifted a wonderful small birthday cake between us that was delicious. There were however big differences between our first and second visit here which we couldn’t help but notice. First visit was at Christmas a few years ago, and there were less tables/people seated during the allocated time. With so many people this time, the staff were not so quick to attend tables to pour tea, top up tea pots (which ours had gone tepid before being changed), plates/cutlery etc. They also didn’t table vacuum any small crumbs, as before. Last time the warm scones were wrapped in a white linen napkin, not this time. We also got served tea in a teapot that the lid didn’t fully shut. This was noted by the waiter, but wasn’t removed and a new pot returned. But overall the whole experience was rather lovely and we would certainly return again. It was a very memorable experience to have celebrated our special birthdays in such opulent surroundings. We both thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Mine and my husband’s favourite place to visit I went with our daughter today. Thank you so much to the amazing staff who made us so welcoming and looked after us. The food was incredible try the Winston Churchill champagne it was beautiful. We had a wonderful time

Me and my husband traveled to London for our 5th wedding anniversary, he surprised me with afternoon tea at the Ritz which I’ve been dreaming of for years. I can’t even begin to put into words how beautiful this was, how friendly and welcoming the staff was and the food was beautiful. Great presentation and tasted even better. Really was a pleasure to visit here. I will definitely be coming back here again.

My sister, niece and I stayed at the hotel at the beginning of the month - April 2025. The service is out of the ordinary. Efficient, effective and fast. A small problem that arose in the bathroom was taken care of before I could even get back to the room, after I reported it to the hotel staff!!! The breakfast in the wonderful dining room - amazing for the price as the dining room. The Palm Court is amazing in itself as well as the entire hotel and the suite we stayed in. Thank you for the service and stay and we will definitely be back.

This overnight stay was booked as a Christmas present for my mum. I booked us the Afternoon Tea, Bed and Breakfast package in a king room. As an additional treat I also booked us an evening meal in the restaurant as well, this was so we could enjoy the full package. On arrival at the hotel we were promptly removed of our luggage and shown to reception. Swiftly booked in and after a brief tour of the ground floor taken to our room. On arriving at our room we were informed that the hotel had as a surprise upgraded us to a junior suite! This was amazing, so big and really spacious! A bottle of champagne and fruit with two bottles of water were also awaiting our arrival. The room as you would expect was spotless, beds and pillow so comfy. The only thing that we did have to ask for was a kettle! Mum can’t function on a morning without a cup of tea!! You could have had one brought to the room but at £10 a cup we will make our own! Afternoon tea was delightful, sandwiches kept coming if you wanted them, high quality and very well presented. We opted to take the scones and other fancies away in a lovely ‘doggy box’. We also made a booking at the Rivoli Bar, again this was a lovely atmosphere to have pre dinner drinks. In the main restaurant nothing was too much trouble, waiters there to re-seat you after using the bathroom, plates going down and being removed together. Glasses and plates at a certain angle, the table light and flowers all exactly the same. All the small details that make this ‘The Ritz’. The only small thing we did find was the meal was booked at 8pm, if like us you like your food to fully settle before bed then I would suggest booking an early table, we only had two courses and we didn’t leave until 11pm, now during this time we were given bread, an amuse-bouche and small sweets after mains, we were also treated to knowledge of the entire cheese and tea trolleys that they bring round! We didn’t expect to be in there for such a length of time! We also had to ask for the check to sign three times before it was brought to the table. Breakfast was again a lovely selection of continental items followed by a full English, I didn’t eat a lot of this however as I had been unwell during the night. It was lovely the items I did eat. All in all our experience at the ritz was fantastic and we would definitely love to return again in the future, nothing was too much trouble. Everyone was treated the same level of service and respect and the staff are outstanding.
